One can only love his creator more when he knows him better and deeper. The names of Allah describe all his beautiful and powerful attributes. Becoming well familiar with Allah’s names is a blessing and a pride for a Muslim. He wil love his lord more by knowing more about him. This is the most precious knowledge in the world, the meanings of Allah’s names plant a seed of love, fear, humility and forgiveness in the heart of a Muslim.
Allah (swt) said Himself:
“So know that Laa ilaaha ill Allah (there is nothing worthy of worship but Allah)…” (Qur’an 47:19)
The concept of Tawheed is incomplete unless the names of Allah are not known fully. Refering to Sunnah and Quran will definitely clear the misconceptions related to tahreef (interpretation and changing the meanings) of Allah’s Attributes in particular.
According to Islamic scholars, the correct Faith in Allah’s attributes means that a person believs in Allah without denying his powers and actions. He cannot change their meanings or misinterpret them. Understanding of Tawheed is greater when accompanied with an understanding of Shirk.
Speaking about Allah without evidence and refernce is a sin. The Quran says:
“Say (O Muhammad): My Lord has only forbidden indecencies, those of them that are apparent as well as those that are concealed, and sin and rebellion without justice, and that you associate with Allah in worship that which He has sent down no authority, and that you say about Allah that which you do not know.” (Qur’an 7:33)
These days people who are lead astray by the enemy (the shaitan) are speaking false things about Allah and misleading some people. There should be no compromise in the matters of Aqeedah as it is taken from the Qur’an and Sunnah, it is not an interpretation of any human being. The people who sin are easy prey for Shaytaan, who seeks to misguide such people even further.
And at-Tahaawee said in al-Aqeedah at-Tahaaweeyah:
“To imagine Allah in a certain form is not correct. The safest way for a Muslim is to believe in all the attributes of Allah is without adding any interpretation. To negate the attributes of Allah altogether or to compare Him to someone is a deviation from the right path. Our Lord is unique and without any equal at all.”
The Quran Says:
“Whosoever questions us and says, ‘Do you believe God has a face?’, the answer is: ‘We believe it contrarily to the belief of the innovators; and His words ‘And the Face of your Lord full of Majesty and Honour will abide forever’ (Qur’an 55:27) are a proof of it.’”
Quran also says that : “There is none comparable to Him” (Qur’an 112:4)
“No vision can grasp Him, but His Grasp is over all vision.” (6:103).
Muslims must unite and settle on these issues, then they must unite to do the things Allah has sent them to do on this planet. Evidence from the book of Allah is the biggest evidence, there is no room for distortion in the meanings of Allah’s names.
And Allah (swt) states in the Qur’an:
“Whose word can be truer than Allah’s?” (Qur’an 4:122)
