Allah Taala has granted us a mouth and ability to express words with the tongue. What would have happened if I were completely okay, but I could not make sounds and voices with the mouth?) I would have banged my heads with the fists with great despair and burst into tears, but ah! Could I even express the sorrow and grievance which my heart bore at that moment???
Allah Taala has granted us two legs and ability to walk! Ask a paralyzed – what life is to him? He has his legs but no strength to walk! We walk and run and crouch and jump – and what don’t we do with these two? When we dream of future work, do we ever think that “I do need my two legs to accomplish it – Without these I’m almost incapable!” Do we ever think in such way?
Allah Taala has granted us two hands. Right now I am typing this post for the Dear Readers of Islam-inlife.com! How could I had typed if I did not have just ONE finger? – At least I couldn’t have typed at such an ease! What have I achieved in my life till now? Would those been ever possible without these two hands? Who gave me the hands?
Allah Taala has granted my two eyes. Right now you, dear Reader – aren’t we seeing and reading this post? Could you ever do so without vision? We can see our surrounding, our near and dear ones and above all – I can see myself! Just go and ask a blind his wish! Our life is full of light with these two eyes. Had these been out of order, we would have been in the pitch dark. How many times a day have we thought so? Well, how many times a week have we thought so? Okay …..how many times have we thought that in a month?…..or ever have we got some time to ponder on it once in a year or once in my life(?)
What hadn’t Allah Taala granted us? Listen to Allah Taala’s Words (Meaning):
Say, “If the ocean were to be ink for the Words of my Lord, the ocean would have been consumed before the Words of my Lord are exhausted, even though we were to bring another one, like it, in addition.” [Sura Kahf: 109]
What should we do? Allah Taala has granted us conscience, intelligence and both mental and physical strength. We must always choose the ‘righteous way’ along our life journey. We must make calculation every night: How have my days passed today? How have I used my tongue, eyes, ears, hands, legs and all other bounties(?) If we are regular on our vigilance regarding ‘using our limbs’, inshallah one by one our bad habits would get removed. But with no intention to rectify and making no effort on the Path of Allah Taala would just waste valuable times of our life and leave us only for misusing the bounties Allah Taala! Ponder on these Words of Allah Taala (Meaning):
And (remind them of) the day when Allah’s enemies will be mustered towards the Fire. So they will be kept under control, [19] until when they will come to it, their ears and their eyes and their skins will testify against them about what they used to do. [20] And they will say to their skins, “Why did you testify against us?” They (the skins) will say, ” We were made to speak by Allah, the One who has made every thing to speak.” And He had created you the first time, and to Him you are going to be returned. [21] And you had not been hiding your selves (when committing sins) because of (the apprehension) that your ears and your eyes and your skins would bear witness against you, but you thought that Allah did not know much of what you did. [22] And this thought of yours that you conceived about your Lord brought you to ruin, and you became among the losers. [23] [Sura Fussilat/Hamim Shajdah 19-23]
O Allah! By the sake of Your Beloved Muhammadur Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam save us from Hell Fire! Let such not happen that our limbs be witness against us on the Day of Resurrection. Let us prepare now in this world and make Pure Tawba.
