GOD’S WILL OR DESTINY

A brief understanding Of GOD’S WILL OR DESTINY. Due to the lack of understanding and faith, the fate and destiny has become overly difficult for some people to understand and they have made it a controversial topic. Let us explore this topic here in detail.

Everything in this world is based on a precise calculation, logic and law. The wold is in perfect harmony and everything is in its place according to an exact measurement. Therefore the universe works on the principle of cause and effect, the cause inevitably transmits to the effect a characteristic bearing affinity to its own essence.

For unfolding the worldly affairs, the Islam explains the fate and destiny is related to God’s firm decree to unfold the worldly affairs. Some deeds of man are being fixed by God so that he can use them for certain reasons, but some are totally dependent on his will.

Fate is related to God and it is irreversible. Destiny (qadar) has the meaning of extent or proportion,  destiny is a direct result of His creativity for all the creatures. The Qur’an speaks of these fixed forms, properties and proportions of things as qadar:

“We have created everything according to a fixed proportion.” (54:49)

“God has fixed a quantity and proportion of all things.” (65:3)

The term, fate (qadar’), in the Qur’an, means rational and natural necessities.  Everything is given a fixed capacity for growth and development until it reaches the highest degree of development, things continue to advance. So, the outcome of things is not directly connected with fate and destiny because it is the cause that determines the nature of the effect.

Destiny and Action

If someone is suffering from appendicitis then this is their destiny”  due to a particular cause.  If he gets the surgery and medical help, he can recover or die, this is an example of destiny.

But it is also not recommended to anyone to sit with their arms and hands folded. Every human being is given the power of action and make an effort to save themselves from dying and get the best help for curing early. You cannot ignore destiny but you have to act as well.

Some people in the world are lazy and refuse to work first decide not to work and then when they are penniless, they blame the destiny. But they have the power to make a decision and they can earn if they work so that is their destiny too.

 From One Destiny to Another

In short, fate and destiny represent nothing other than the universality of the principle of causality. The principle of causality says only that every phenomenon has a cause. ‘Ali, peace be upon him,  was resting in the shade of a broken wall which was about to collapse. suddenly he arose and went to sit in the shade of another wall. He was asked: “Are you fleeing what God has destined?”

He said, “I am taking refuge in God’s power from what He has destined,” meaning, ‘I am fleeing from one destiny to another destiny. He decided to escape from the danger zone and saved himself, this is destiny. If he had stayed, he might have died or gotten hurt, that was destiny too.

Quran says “The divine norm is immutable and unchanging.” (33:62)

“If a people provides itself with the capital of faith and performs good and worthy deeds, it will be triumphant on the stage of life and win the viceregency of the earth.” (24:55)

“God will never change the destiny of a society until its people change that Society.” (13:11)

Normally Oppression, malevolence, egotism, aggression also bear bitter fruit. According to scientists: “Do not say the world lacks perception, for you will then have accused yourself of lacking perception. You have come into being as part of the world, and if there is no awareness in the world, there is none in you either.”

Quran also says:

GOD’S WILL OR DESTINY
                                             GOD’S WILL OR DESTINY

“Were the people of the earth to believe and act with piety, We would open to them the gates of all heavenly and earthly blessings, but since they denied the truth, We punished them for their evil behavior.” (7:96)

“We never destroy region unless its people become cruel and aggressive.” (28:59)

The man has to follow some automatic laws of nature in order to achieve his goals. If they try to act opposite and interfere with the natural process of God’s processes,  his free will can bring him harmful effects and disturbs the lives of people.

These are the relevant verses about GOD’S WILL OR DESTINY:”They said, ‘If God wanted us not to worship the angels, we would not do so.’ They speak not in accordance with logic or scientific proof, but t with their own vain imaginings. Did We ever send them a book containing proofs for their erroneous belief in determinism?” (43:20-21)  Source:www.al-islam.org/god-and-his-attributes-sayyid-mujtaba-musawi-lari/lesson-20-form-god’s-will-and-volition.
