The muslims strongly believe that this present life is a trial and they share the same belief with Christians that  worldly life is just a preparation for the next realm of existence.  Each individual is being tested here on earth for the coming life after their death. The judgement day is referred to as a day when  the entire universe will be destroyed and all the mortal human beings will be  resurrected for judgment by God himself. This is the promise of God as mentioned in Quran and this day will start the new life for humans according to their deeds. The eternal life of reward or punishment for sins will never end.

On the day of judgment On that day,  the beliefs and deeds of everybody will be questioned. The unbelievers who have died not believing  “There is no true god but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger (Prophet) of God” are not muslims and they will be prohibited to enter the paradise of Allah called Jannah, as God has said:

And those who believe and do good deeds, they are dwellers of Paradise, they dwell there in forever.   (Quran, 2:82)

But those who had firm belief that  “There is no true god but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger (Prophet) of God” or are Muslims. They will not enter Hell which is a place for sinners with burning fires and horrible tortures. as God has said:

“And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will not be accepted from him and he will be one of the losers in the Hereafter”. (Quran, 3:85)

And as He has said:

Those who have disbelieved and died in disbelief, the earth full of gold would not be accepted from any of them if it were offered as a ransom.  They will have a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers.   (Quran, 3:91)

If someone is being forced by their family to leave the Islam or afraid of his forefathers and friends, then they will definitely not enter heaven  because of their cowardice. The answer is what God has said in the preceding verse, “And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will not be accepted from him and he will be one of the losers in the Hereafter.”

After the arrival of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him),God does not accept any excuse for not accepting the Islam as the true religion. Allah or God is the true sustainer and creator of humans, he created everything for us in the earth and blessed us with so many rewards.  So despite all these blessings and mercy, if someone dares to challenge the authority of God,  and the righteousness of His Prophet Muhammad (SAW), then  they will surely be punished in the Hereafter. The main purpose of our creation is to worship God and  (51:56).

We live a short life today, as God has said:

He (God) will say, “How many years did you stay on the earth?”  They will say: “We stayed a day or part of a day….” (Quran, 23:112-113)

The real life is eternal after the day of judgement, it is a long one and never ending one. It is a physical as well as a spiritual life. Therefore prophet Muhammad compared this life on earth with the eternal life by saying:

“The value of this world compared to that of the Hereafter is like what your finger brings from the sea when you put it in and then take it out”.
