Increase and decrease of Iman. The blessings of iman are the greatest blessings of Allah on mankind. The world would be a savage place in the abscence of iman and spiritual guidance. Various people have various iman levels in the world, the iman is strong when someone fully submit themselves to the will of Allah, the iman is weak when the do not belive in the Hadith and Quranic guidance for living life.
The belief of a Muslims should be strong and solid, when the iman is not solid, then the person seals the doors of obedience of Allah and opens the doors of disobedience. The sin is a proof that iman has vanished, that leads to the darker ending of life and a home in the fire hereafter.
Allah tells us in the Qur?aan that we will be raised up after we die., Iman has higher parts and levels,the ranks of a person increase as the levels of iman increase. The person who possesse higher iman produce ripe fruits, constant good deeds and spread love all around the world. Allah will be pleased with them and have mercy upon them.
The Key to Iman is Knowledge of Islam
Allah and Quran are the two proofs that no Muslim can deny who possess iman. The thing that strengthens the iman and completes it is the love of Allah in the heart and perfect understanding of his religion Islam. The knowledge is the key to successful way of life that Islam provides to all human race. There are abundant benefits of iman which grows through the deep understanding of Quran and Sunnah.
The iman causes Muslims to serve the Allah almighty in the perfect way. It becomes the reason for happiness and saves Muslims from painful consequences of the sin they committ in the absence of iman. There are many causes of decrease in iman. The most significant cause for the decrease of iman is the temptations by the shaitan to follow the path of sin.
Causes for the Increase of Eemaan
As we mentioned above that learning valuable Islamic knowledge is the key source of increasing one’s iman. Reading the book and sunnah with devotion turns human beings into blessed creatures. The heart becomes soft with the word of Allah.
?Allah bears witness that none deserves the right to be worshipped but He, and the Angels and those having knowledge (also give this witness); (He is always) maintaining His creation with justice…?[Soorah Aal-Imraan (3): 18]
Allah says:
?But those among them who are well-grounded in knowledge and the believers, believe in what has been sent down to you and in what was sent down before you, and those who establish prayer and give zakaah and believe in Allah and the Last day, it is they to whom we shall give a great reward.? [Soorah an-Nisaa (4): 162]
Allah says:
?Verily, those who were given knowledge before it, when it is recited to them, fall down on their faces in humble prostration. And they say, ?How perfect is our Lord! Truly, the promise of our Lord must be fulfilled: And they fall down on their faces weeping and it adds to their humility.? [Soorah al-Israa? (17):107-109]
Allah says:
?And that those who have been given knowledge may know that it (i.e., the Qur?aan) is the truth from your Lord, and that they may believe therein, and their hearts may submit to it with humility. And verily, Allah is the Guide of those who believe, to the straight path:? [Soorah al-Hajj (22):54]
Allah says:
?And those who have been given knowledge see that what is revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, and that it guides to the path of the Exalted in might, Owner of all praise.?? [Soorah Saba (34):6]
Allah says:
?It is only those who have knowledge amongst His slaves who fear Allah. Verily, Allah is All-Mighty, Oft-Forgiving.? [Soorah Faatir (35):28]
Allah says:
“Allah will exalt in degree those of you who believe, and those who have been granted knowledge. And Allah is well acquainted with what you do.” [Soorah al-Mujaadilah (58):11]
Recorded in the Saheehayn, is the hadeeth of Mu?aawiyah, may Allah be pleased with him, in which he says. ?The Messenger of Allah – sallallahu alaihe wa-sallam – said: “Whomever Allah desires good for, He imparts upon him understanding of the religion.” [Related by al-Bukhaaree, (1/164, 6/217, 12,294 Fath) and Muslim, 4/1524]
