The Burning of Quran – A Modern Act of Barbarism

Quran is book of God which has revealed upon Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for the guidance of human humankind. The language of Holy Quran is Arabic composed of simple inscriptions that are easy to comprehend. The sanctity of Quran has always been at stake but the supreme deity has ensured to safeguard the divinity of His book that is why the scripture of Quran until date is as pure and authentic as was on the day of revelation. No one will ever find any discrepancies in the Holy book because the Lord of the universe Himself is preserving it. Allah says in Quran:

“Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur’an and indeed, We will be its guardian.” [Quran 15:9]

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has sent down as beacon for the entire Ummah and has never forced a single soul to accept Islam rather asked Muslims to protect their fellow beings be Jews or Christians.

religion acceptance 2_256

“There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.” [Quran 2:256]

Quran Desecration

Violating the sanctity of Holy Quran has become a modern heinous act. The burning of Holy Scriptures is outrageously shameful which created imbalance in the peace and harmony among nation of different creeds and beliefs. Respecting and commemorating the Holy Scriptures is an utmost duty of a person the vandalism of which should be stopped vigorously. Such crimes ought to be denounced openly for they have nothing to do with violation of faiths but morals and humanity.

Such incidents jolt the sentiments of an absolute faith bearer Muslim and enrages a person in particular which eventually leads to abhor violence and hatred for the people of different sects.

Flashbacks of burning of Quran from History

Predates Modern era these acts of barbarism has no foundation and were hard to find but now a days it has become a custom to come across these inhumane heart throbbing atrocities. With the rise of Islam West has rendered the image of Quran grotesquely, propagating the image of Islam being the religion of devil that insists on wars, and beheading. The concept resurfaced after the 9/11 fabricated incident with the rise of US created Taliban who challenged the sovereignty and hegemony of America. After the war with Afghanistan, the captives were tortured in Guantanamo bay jail, by insulting the captives they used to burn Quran in front of them and dishonored their Islamic rituals.

Back then, the media was not strong but those who were released later from inhumane jail unfolded these all stories and were condemned internationally. After then series of events took place in which the West started to desecrate Quran to target the sentiments of Muslims.

Allah is the Sole Protector of Quran

Quran is full of Allah’s words in which He has declared Himself as absolute guardian of this book of miracles. Allah has promised to keep the sanctity of Quran the same until the day of resurrection and has challenged the pagans to create one single verse like Quran. All those who are disrespecting Quran and its verses are oblivion creatures, drenched in whims that they will not be accountable for their deeds.

The Florida popes and Christian preachers celebrated “Quran burning Day” and said in interview, “We burnt the book for 10 minutes and provided an opportunity to the Muslim world to defend their Quran.” They are idolaters and ignorant enough that it is not the people but Allah whom they have challenged and verily Allah is the best keeper of His words.

promise 3_9

“Our Lord, surely You will gather the people for a Day about which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not fail in His promise.” [Quran 3:9]

Give respect and get respected!

All the religions have some same common belief i.e. believing the divinity of Allah and Muhammad (PBUH), respect of all affirmative narratives and the scholars vehemently agreed upon the tolerance and respect they impart towards these religions. These incidents prove to be catalyst for the rest of Muslim societies and they react in more horrifying manner. Lynching Christians and burning churches have become common in Muslim society that they have adopted from the discarded practices of West burning their sacramental scriptures.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) commanded his emissaries to respect the non-believers and provide shelter and protection in times of war then how can the followers avert from His teachings by killing and forcing a non-believer towards Deen Islam.

Disposing of scriptures

The purity of Quran is proven from the fact that Muslims are not allowed to hold and recite when they are in impure state. For the recitation of Quran it has been stated that:

“Indeed, it is a noble Qur’an. In a Register well-protected; None touch it except the purified.” [Quran 56: 77-79]

Nevertheless, Quran is a book that becomes old and at times, the words on pages are hard to read. No muslin is allowed to burn the old scriptures rather to bury the book in soil with concern that no one walks over it.

Allamah ibn Abidin, a great Hanafi Scholar states: If a copy of the Quran becomes old and it is difficult to read it, it should not be burnt in fire. This is also the view of Imam Mohammed (Student of Imam Abu Hanifah). It is best to bury them after wrapping them into something pure and clean.

Burning any part of Quran or Quran entirely is a shameful act, which should direly be stopped before it becomes a regular custom for the Western people. Need of hour is to prevail the neutral image of Islam by keeping one’s self a practical example to realize the world that Islam and Quran are not against another religion rather believes in the coexistence and refrain from the forceful inclusion of any soul into religion Islam.
