Quran is the ultimate source of guidance for Muslims, a divine book that is a true word of God and  filled with Divine knowledge and wisdom. It contains all he instructions  that are complete within itself. Quran is the most sacred book in the world for Muslims,  and no worldly book comes close to its power. There are countless  blessings, religious benefits and rewards for a Muslim as well for reading the Quran. The countless rewards come from not only reading but also  from listening to Quran. Muslims recite Quran in their houses naturally and  should develop a habit of listening and reading it  on daily basis.

Why Quran is a Treasure?

Before discussing why  Quran rewards Muslims who read it with sincere heart and pure mind, let us see what of Quran says about itself:  In Quran, Allah says:

“And We send down of the Quran that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe (in  Islamic Monotheism and act on it), and it increases the Zalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers) nothing but loss.” (17:82)

It is clear from this ayah that Quran recitation brings many benefits to human beings. Those who believe, for them Quran is healing and mercy, whereas for those who do not believe in the holistic message of Islam, for them Quran is nothing but loss. The intentions of a person decides the nature of gifts he receives from recitation of Quran.

Truly there is a reminder in this for anyone who has a heart, or who listens attentively with presence of mind.” (50:37)

The Quran says that Muslims should read it with an open mind. The true impression of veersus can only be felt with the lightener is fully focused on the verses and not distracted by the outside sounds. It helps to develop the fear or Allah into Muslims,  and generate feelings of love, respect, and a sense of obedience and submission towards Allah Almighty as well.

The second major benefit of listening Quran that befalls upon a Muslim is the mercy and blessings of Allah Almighty.

Guidance:

Among all the other benefits of reading Quran, the greatest of  all benefits is  the guidance that a person receives from it.

“Those who eschew Evil – and fall not into its worship – and turn to Allah (in repentance) – for them is Good News announce the Good News to My Servants – Those who listen to the Word, and follow the best (meaning) in it: those are the ones whom Allah has guided, and those are ones endued with understanding.” (39:17-18)

From this ayah of Quran, it is evident that  listening to Quran should not leave the Muslims untouched by its verses. One should listen to them carefully and needs to deduce the best meaning from it. When this happens, the person gets the perfect guidance of God and Allah helps him or her.
