As a Muslim child, it is obligatory to follow some rules of Islam like the grown ups. The rules of Islam applies on people of every age, Some things we have to do by the order of Allah like respecting elders, getting up early to say the prayers, refrain from speaking lies and take part in education.
When you get up early in the morning you are supposed to say this:
Alhamdu lillahilladhi ahyana ba’da ma amatana wa ilaihinnushur.
It means: Thanks and praises to Allah who brought us to life after having given us death and to him we shall have to return.
As a Muslim child, it is a good practice to wake up early and sleep early in the night. Once you are awoke, your face must be washed. The holy prophet Muhammad peace be upon him has taught us many prayers, amont which this is useful for entering the bathroom:
Putting the left foot first in the bathroom is a good practice, then this prayer should be recited:
Allahumma inni a’oodhu bika minal khubthi wal khaba’ith.
It means O Allah! I seek refuge with you from the bad and evil things.
The children should have bathroom manners, they should not talk in the bathroom and sing songs. They should also come out of the room with their right foot out first. The following supplication is recommended for coming out:
Ghufranaka. Alhamdu lillahilladhi adhaba anniladha wa’afani.
It means I ask for your forgiveness. Thanks and praises to Allah who removed from me
the suffering and gave me relief.
How to do wudoo
Washing the hands three times and rinsing mouth three times is also a good practive. Rinsing should be done with the right hand. Then rinse your nose three times with the left hand and also wash your face three times. Afterwards wash your elbows and forearms three times and wipe your head with the water with your index fingers. Also wipe back of your ears and rub your toes with your fingers. Make sure the water reaches insdie them well. Finish the wudu in a good way to please Allah and gain his acceptance for your prayer.
During the wudu, the children are advised not to waste water. The prophet Muhammad said that wasting water while standing at the bank of a river is forbidden. It is a precious resource. Whenthe wudu is complete, recite the following:
Ash-hadu alla illallh wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu.
Children should say their prayers in mosque as often as they can. They should accompany their elders to the mosque. Everybody is supposed to read this when they leave for mosque:
Bismillahi tawak-kaltu alallah wa lahaula wa la quwwata illah billah.
It means: In the name of Allah. I put my trust in Allah and there is no strength nor power except Allah.
Prophet Muhammad said: When you hear the Iqamah, proceed to offer the prayer with calmness and solemnity and do not make haste. Pray whatever you are able to pray and complete what ever you have missed. When you enter the Masjid put your right foot in first and say:
Bismillahi wassalatu wassalamu ala rasulilah. Allahummaftahli abwaba rahmatik.
It means:
In the name of Allah and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah! Open for me the doors of your mercy.
Food and Table Manners
Children should eat according to the guidance of Islam on the lunch or dinner table. They should not forget to say Bismillah before eating anything. They should say Bismillah awwalahu wa akhirahu. (I start in the name of Allah at the beginning and
